"Voices from the Circle: Women's Ritual Art" by Lynn Carol Henderson is an art installation developed as a final project for an interdisciplinary doctorate in art history and women's studies from The Union Institute and University.
The show opened in Eckerd College's Elliott Gallery with a storytelling performance and summer solstice ritual on Saturday, June 21, 2003.
Henderson says, "In my work I provide a sacred space for a storytelling performance and ritual celebrating Mother Earth. My inspiration comes from the beauty of nature, the art and teachings of many cultures around the world, and the healing myths and universal symbols of women's circles."
Henderson is an adjunct art professor at Eckerd College.
We are the circle.
We are the story.
We are the context for all that was.
We are the living energy of all that is to be.
